Our Mini Round-up Of 3 Of 2022’s Hottest Home Trends

Home trends for 2022

If you have set yourself the task of improving your home in 2022, it will help you to know about current trends.

Home trends are forever evolving, but there are certain trends that are earmarked to be all the rage for the whole of the next 12 months.

With a little bit of research, we have uncovered what three of the biggest of them will be, incorporating both key colours and popular themes.

Take note of the following and maybe use them for your forthcoming home improvement project:

Multi-functional spaces

Although our homes have been working really hard for us over the last couple of years, people will be looking to get even more of them in 2022.

Most households had to fashion a home office in their existing set up during the pandemic, requiring a certain room to double-up for dual purposes, and next we’ll see some rooms tripling-up.

To give you an example. Not only should your guest room offer a bed for accommodation, but it could also have a Peloton inside it to enable you to workout at home and foldaway desk for future home working.

Grandmillennial style

Two years into a pandemic, it’s no wonder that we desperately crave some comfort in our lives. Think back to being in your Grandparent’s house as a kid. That felt like one of the most comfortable places on earth.

It’s this recollection amongst millennials that has seen the emergence of the Grandmillennial style, which very much revolves around recreating the environment that our older relatives live or lived in.

To nail the theme, add vintage pieces of furniture, display any old China on upholstered furniture, introduce floral prints and patterns etc.

It will establish an atmosphere that constantly fills you with joy.

White gets blanked

There still remains a place for a classic white-coloured finish, but too much of it can leave rooms feeling cold and far too muted.

2022 will be a year when homeowners get experimental with their colour choices and turn to fashionable and striking finishes such as Pantone’s 2022 Colour of the Year, “Very Peri”, a periwinkle blue with rich violet undertones.

Those with a strong love of nature will be enamoured by earthy tones and colours, like chocolate brown and terracotta.

Very often, you can get leather sofas in these kinds of colours and it should also be relatively simple to work them into window treatments.
