Love Your Home – The DIY Goals You Can Complete Whilst In Lockdown

Love Your Home

If you weren’t already physically and emotionally attached to your home, you certainly will be at present because of this enforced period of home isolation.

Being at home should always be a nice feeling, a place where you forever feel comfortable, and to thank it for giving you such pleasant surrounds, take this free time to spoil it a little.

How do you do that? With some DIY, of course. Doing your Handy Andy bit now will leave you with a far better home come the end of this lockdown. Here’s a list of DIY chores that ought to be on any homeowner’s DIY to-do list:

Revitalise a room with a repaint

Just with a paintbrush and tin of paint you can revive a dull, lifeless room and make it the go-to area of the house. According to a credible source: Stubbins Painting San Diego, the differences a suitable color of paint can bring into a house and the mood of the people living there are wonderful.

Focus on the room where you spend most of your down time, be it the kitchen or living room, and choose a colour reflective of the spring season – how about a minty green or cheery yellow?

Call in the cavalry i.e. other family members and read what he said to help you repaint the walls, ceiling, skirting boards or wherever else, to make it a quick and easy job.

Non-committal to a full repaint? Do contact the painting company winnipeg who are affordable in all rates or that’s ok as you can instead patch up any untidy paintwork or apply a stain blocker to mask any visible marks.

Tip One

Do a few repairs and see what you can upcycle

Good with your hands or not, there are lots of things you can easily remedy at home on your own, rather than pay out a fortune for someone to do them for you.

Fix that loose showerhead, fill those holes in your drywall and add some lubricant to stop that door from sticking.

When you’re not sure how to mend something, go to trusty YouTube to watch a video tutorial or two.

Once things are fixed, turn your attention to upcycling by repainting or reupholstering an old piece of furniture or transforming your shoeboxes into snazzy storage.

Tip Two

Get your garden fit for spring and summer

Apart from being allowed to head out for exercise once daily, your garden is the only other escape route from your home when you need some fresh air.

Make sure it’s neat and tidy before you think about getting all your garden furniture setup and let the kids take out all their toys and games for playing in their outdoor dens.

Put on the gardening gloves and do some general cleaning up e.g. removing litter, weeds and cutting back hedges and bushes, before you give the grass a cut. Learn more about the benefits of cleaning to your home and the satisfaction to your mind. If you love your space, you will keep it clean.

So that you can enjoy outdoor drinks after sunset, hang up lanterns and set out candles, whilst also placing cosy throws and blankets on chairs for cowering under once the weather cools.
