The Home Trends That Have Been Amongst The Hottest In 2020

The last six months have been a real whirlwind for everyone. You should have the biggest possible bond with your home as it’s where you will have spent much of your time in recent months.

Interior of Extension with Bi-Fold Doors

If the bond could still be bigger, you ought to spend some of your summer holidays enhancing your property, just like many people did during the lockdown.

When home improvements are done well and on trend, they add massive value and will make you enjoy home living more.

Want to know what’s ‘on trend’? Here’s what’s been popular so far in 2020:

Scandi-style

Very recently, a study showing the 20 most popular interior trends of 2020 was released and sitting at the top of the list was ‘Scandi-design’, heavily searched for on Google since the turn of the year.

The Scandi movement actually first emerged in the 1930’s and nearly 100 years on, it’s a design craze that refuses to go away, typified by its beauty, simplicity and functionality.

Whichever room you have earmarked for being stylised in a Scandi-fashion, achieve the look by ensuring it’s completely free of clutter, installing wood flooring, mixing and matching the old and the new, and using muted shades.

Bright Colours

You will have experienced some low points during lockdown, but things are thankfully improving now and we all need to retain a positive outlook on life.

Brighten your mood going forward by adding some bright colours to your main living space – we are thinking of yellows, oranges and pinks.

Don’t go overboard with these vibrant finishes. Less is always more! Do it in a delicate manner by incorporating the colour through your soft furnishings e.g. chair coverings, cushions.

Sliding doors

We were blessed with some great weather when in isolation and it made us all more appreciative of our gardens.

This has seen an increased desire to establish garden gateways in the home i.e. fitting bi-folding or patio doors into an empty wall space to simplify garden accessibility from indoors.

Bi-folds are best if you want a door that you can completely fold open which is dominated by glass due to the slenderness of the aluminium framework.

You’re in luck if you’d like bi-folding doors for your home as they are included in our BIG Summer Sale. Visit our Special Offers page for more information.
