Are you in the group of people who are wondering what an Orangery actually is? Well, we’re here to explain.

We tend to fit internal lighting with downlighters which creates a great look to the inside of the orangery, and sets it apart from a normal Conservatory. To describe the difference in a basic way, an orangery feels more like a glass extension or sunroom with a combination of glazed frames and walls. We normally install a glass roof on our orangeries and there are a range of glazing options available.

The image shown is an example of an installed orangery from a photo-shoot we recently did.We have conservatories and orangeries set up at all of our showrooms around England and Wales.

There are numerous orangery designs available and all are made bespoke – which means they are tailor made for your exact requirements.

One of the major advantages at Mid Wales Windows is that our Welsh Orangeries are very well priced! So for a free quote please follow the links on our website!

Proposed changes to building regulations in 2010 could add thousands of pounds on to Conservatory Prices. Matthew Glover, Managing Director of Conservatory Outlet (Mid Wales Windows is a Conservatory Outlet Retailer), explains that people should look to buy now before these regulations come into force.

The construction industry says that proposals in the draft consultation for the 2010 version of Part L of the Building Regulations will begin to see home extensions become more expensive for people looking to invest in their property.

Consumers who are looking to build extensions could be forced to spend much more in improving the energy efficiency of the rest of their property under the new proposals. Matthew Glover believes the extra cost is likely to be around and additional £2,000 per conservatory.

These new regulations will cover Conservatories for the first time and that means higher carbon reduction targets which would include heating restrictions as well as floor, wall and glass designs to make the conservatory more energy efficient.

Matthew Glover stated, “Conservatory Outlet build their conservatories to a high standard, virtually complying with building regulations. But of course the requirement to upgrade other areas of the property at the same time will add to the cost of the project.”

For those wishing to avoid these extra costs involved with the proposed regulations, then the only way to do so is to have their conservatory or orangery built this year, in 2009.

With the construction industry currently at below capacity due to the ongoing recession and housing crisis, there are some great Orangery and Conservatory Offers to be had. We offer the chance to pay on finance, not having to pay for 12 months and keeping a the low price that we currently offer.

Mid Wales Windows are a manufacturer of uPVC Windows, doors and conservatories with showrooms in Wales.

Why can new windows save you money?

Well our windows use a low emittance glass that contains a coating that lies between the layers of glazing, which makes the glass reflective – keeping the energy in. The unique system keeps the house warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.

We use new components in glass insulation that help to create a more energy efficient glass, such as glass coatings, gas fillers, warm edge spacers and new frame materials. The A Rated Windows range is the most energy efficient window available on the market.

The topic of Energy Rated Windows and reducing your carbon footprint is a very popular one. We all need to take a part in doing this and energy efficient windows are a fantastic way of doing this. They help to reduce your carbon foot print and save you a lot of cash from your wallet.

Our Double Glazed Windows mean that there will be no draughts letting the warm air out. With your normal windows you are using more heat, and more energy is escaping because of a window that is not designed to contain the warm air inside.
